Trinidadian woman kills nine-month-old girl for crying

Trinidad and Tobago: A relative, annoyed by a baby’s crying sound, reportedly fed the infant an insecticide using a syringe. A nurse reported the incident to the Trinidad and Tobago police after the child was brought to the Princess Town Health Facility unresponsive.

When the police arrived at the facility, they met the female relative, who admitted what she did. The woman allegedly told them she was at her New Grant home with the baby and a 10-year-old boy.

The woman said around 12:20 pm, the baby began to cry uncontrollably, and she became frustrated and fed her Malathion insecticide using a syringe.

She left the baby on a bed, and shortly after, she found the child unresponsive. The woman called the ambulance, which took the baby girl to the health facility. She was then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital, where she died around 6:30 pm.

The Trinidadian police informed that the nine-month-old infant became unresponsive and was rushed to the Princes Town District Health Facility on Wednesday. Later, she was checked and transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital and was declared dead at 6:30 pm. Police further confirmed that the nine-month-old baby was fed with an insecticide.

Later, police arrived at the hospital, where they met with her relative, who confessed her crime. The suspect informed the police that she was with her New Grant home with her own 10-year-old child and nine-month-old baby girl. The woman also informed the police that after she found that the baby was responsive, she called the ambulance and took the baby to the health facility.

According to the police officials, they have recovered a syringe, a baby bottle, as well as a 250 ml bottle with the markings Malathion at the woman’s home.

Investigation into the case is still ongoing.
