Woman, 58, dies from COVID, 59 new cases – News Room Guyana

A 58-year-old unvaccinated Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica) woman is the latest COVID-19 death, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health. The Ministry said the woman’s death, on July 18, takes the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 1,267.

Meanwhile, 59 new cases were recorded from 299 tests conducted. The new cases were recorded in: Region Two (two cases), Region Four (23 cases), Region Five (two cases), Region Six (six cases) and Region Ten (26 cases).

There are three patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 38 patients are in institutional isolation and 978 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 66,686 people have recovered.
