The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) has taken the decision to restart the Cricket West Indies Rising Stars U17 Championships after the first two rounds were completely washed out without a ball bowled.

The tournament began on Tuesday in Trinidad with all matches abandoned after heavy rainfall prevented play from getting underway.

On Thursday, the second round of the championship was also lost after heavy overnight rain prevented the game from starting on time at 9:30 am before subsequent showers brought about another abandonment.

The tournament was due to resume on Saturday with Round 3, however, the matches in Round 1 will now be played instead, with Round 2 played on Monday.
