Trinidad and Tobago defeated Saint Martin 2-0 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in their first international outing of 2023.
After a sterile first half, Trinidad and Tobago went ahead through Ajani Fortune in the 65th minute, before Real Gill confirmed the win with a 86th minute strike.
The US-born Fortune, 19, notched his first goal for Trinidad and Tobago in his fifth international, while Gill, 20, scored on debut.
The victory was the first in three matches for Angus Eve’s team and the first since a 4-1 win over St Vincent and the Grenadines in June 2022.
Trinidad and Tobago lost to Tajikistan and Thailand by 2-1 margins in the King’s Cup in Thailand in September 2022.
The Soca Warriors are due to face the Bahamas in Nassau on 24 March and Nicaragua on 27 March at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Tobago in the Concacaf Nations League.
