Trinidad and Tobago: A 46-year-old man and his nephew were at their home when they were gunned down on the night of Monday, September 5, in Freeport, a town in Trinidad.
The victims have been identified as Fazal “Beastman” Hosein, aged 46 and Kevin Samuel, aged 31.
Both the victims lost their lives shortly after 7 pm while receiving medical assistance at the Chaguanas district health facility.
According to the police officials, Hosein was also known by the name Bobby.
The shooting incident took place at the family’s home, located on Taitt Madoo Road, Freeport, Trinidad and Tobago.
Police stated that the shooter ambushed them and started shooting directly at them, then fled the scene as the two fell to the ground.
Both were taken to the nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
It has been reported that no other person was injured during the fatal incident.
The crime scene was visited by Freeport and the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (Region III), who also gathered the evidence.
The relatives of the deceased are in a state of shock and have not yet said anything about the incident.
Kevin Samuel (the nephew) was out on bail for a series of offences against him.
In July 2020, police officials charged Samuel for the possession of a Glock 17 pistol with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition as well as possession of marijuana after searching him in the yard of his own house.
The police probed the house and reportedly found a pistol with three rounds of 7.62 ammunition in 2020, after which two other individuals were also arrested and charged who are reported to be friends with Samuel.
Police officials in Trinidad and Tobago have launched a search operation to look for the shooter. The reason behind the murder has not yet been identified, but further investigations are being carried out.
