Trinidad and Tobago: TTPS shares update on three documentaries focusing on climate change

Trinidad and Tobago: The Trinidad + Tobago Film Festival (TTFF) has raised their voice against climate change, which has caused heavy flooding across the Caribbean region, including Trinidad and Tobago.

While contributing towards climate change, TTFF shared an update on three documentaries focusing on climate change and harsh weather conditions.

Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival took social media and stated, “Climate change can have a devastating impact. The recent flooding across Trinidad and Tobago is an example. Climate change directs to long-term shifts in temperatures + weather patterns, but did you know that human activities have been regarded as the main driver of climate change? It’s time to understand climate change!”

It further outlined that they have put together a triple dose of insights with these three documentaries that focus on the issue within Trinidad and Tobago:

‘Small Change’ focuses the conversation on climate change entirely on Trinidad & Tobago. It explores the present state of the local economy and what can be done at the grassroots, corporate and government levels to improve our environment while also having significant social and economic benefits for citizens.

‘Metiver in Paramin’ explores the suffering endured by Paramin farmers due to the significant loss of topsoil and property caused by erosion and slippage. The documentary captures the return to Paramin of ‘metiver’- an invaluable plant to a hillside farming community, which was lost over generations because of the overuse of weedicides.

‘Disposable’ explores the work being done by organizations and private citizens as they try to encourage a viable recycling programme in Trinidad and Tobago. The documentary highlights the passion, viability and necessity for the recycling call to action.

This films will stream online on the OTT platform of Trinidad+Tobago Film Festival.
