Trinidad and Tobago: Police arrests 2 Suspects, recovers stolen vehicle

Trinidad and Tobago: Grid Patrol System Success- Police arrested two men following the interception of a vehicle minutes after it was reported stolen in the Southern Division on Saturday.

According to the police, at around 12:30 am today, Saturday, 8th October 2022, a man was seated in the driver’s seat of his Nissan Wingroad motor vehicle, which was parked off the Bonne Aventure Road, Gasparillo.

Two men approached the vehicle and then ordered the man to exit his vehicle and enter the “back seat”. The man became fearful; he pushed one of the suspects and ran away. The two perpetrators then drove away with the vehicle. The victim then made a report at the Gasparillo Police Station.

While operating under the Active Directed Grid Patrol System, PC Soogrim and a party of officers from Gasparillo Police Station responded to the reported incident. Being on high alert, the officers observed the said stolen vehicle proceeding in a northerly direction along the Solomon Hochoy Highway.

The officers gave chase and alerted St Margaret’s Police, who also joined in the pursuit of the vehicle. The team of officers eventually intercepted the vehicle along Cedar Hill Road, Claxton Bay.

Two suspects were arrested and conveyed to Gasparillo Police Station. Police have assured that the investigations are ongoing and will remain to continue.

TTPS garnered praise from the locals of Trinidad and Tobago. One of the residents stated, “Yuh Working TTPS. Keep up the great work. Well done,” while another stated, “Fantastic job, officers keep up the good work.” Third commented, “Excellent job, officers… Well done on taking back T&T.”
