Three COVID deaths, 142 new cases recorded – News Room Guyana

Two men, ages 55 and 70, and a woman, 79, are the country’s latest COVID-19 fatalities.

In its report on Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced the three deaths which occurred on July 07 and 08, 2028.

The males were unvaccinated and hailed from Regions Seven and Four while the woman was fully vaccinated from  Region Two

Meanwhile, a total of 142 new COVID-19 cases were recorded after 823 tests were done.

With the new cases, Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases increased to 68,162.

The new cases were recorded in Region One (one case), Region Two (three cases), Region Three (nine cases), Region Four (78 cases), Region Five (14 cases), Region Six (14 cases), Region Seven (three cases), Region Nine (12 cases) and Region Ten (four cases).

There are four patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit and 35 patients in institutional isolation; 731 are in home isolation.

To date, 66, 130 people have recovered.
