A 48-year-old man is warded in critical condition at the Port of Spain General Hospital after he was shot multiple times.
According to reports, the incident took place around 1:15am on Saturday at a home along Mon Repos Road in Morvant.
Police said the victim was at home when he was confronted by two men known to him.
The men bound the victim’s hands and legs and then proceeded to rob the home.
They then placed the victim in a car, drove a short distance away, and ordered him out of the car.
They then shot at him and fled the scene.
Residents who heard the gunshots notified the police and paramedics, and a team of officers, led by Cpl Daniel, PC Ali, and PC Morris, responded.
The injured man was taken for medical treatment.
His condition was said to be critical up until Sunday morning.
