After being closed for a day due to flooded roads across the country, schools will be back open tomorrow (November 29).
The Ministry of Education on Monday evening advised that schools will be reopened, except in cases where those impacted by the adverse weather are being cleaned, or inaccessible.
The news comes as the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) downgraded the adverse weather alert from orange to yellow. Sporadic showers are still expected to persist over the next 24 hours.
The Ministry indicated that Principals at schools that are among those affected by the adverse weather will contact parents.
Finally, the Ministry issued a word of caution to parents as flooding continues to impact some areas, urging them to be vigilant and take all necessary precautions as children head back out to school. A riverine flood alert remains in effect due to the threat to communities around the Caroni and South Oropouche rivers.
