Trinidad and Tobago sprinter Jereem Richards narrowly missed out on a medal in the 200m at the Memorial van Damme in Brussels on Friday.
The Point Fortin native finished fourth in 20.27 seconds in the Diamond League meet.
The USA’s Erriyon Knight won in 20.07 seconds, ahead of Alexander Ogando of the Dominican Republic (20.18), and Aaron Brown of Canada (20.22).
“Just outside of the medals today, it’s not the result that I would’ve liked but that’s part of the sport you win some you lose some,” Richard wrote on his Facebook page.
“I’m still thankful to God that I finished healthy. One more race to go to the Diamond League Finals in Zurich, Switzerland,” he added.
Richards won a bronze medal in the 200m in Lausanne in the Diamond League last week.
The Diamond League final is carded for 7-8 September in Zurich.
Richards won the 200m title at the Commonwealth Games in August, and the 400m title at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade in March.
The 28-year-old also won gold with the men’s 4x400m relay team at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Richards also made it to the finals of the men’s 200m at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon in July.
