Cricket analyst Keshava Ramphal has been named to the Guyana Harpy Eagles technical staff for the CG Insurance Super50 Cup to be staged in Trinidad and Antigua.
The former Preysal Cricket Club and UWI men’s cricket team player was the cricket analyst for the Jamaica Tallawahs and the US U19 women’s team during the successful campaigns in 2022.
Ramphal, who is also a Cricket West Indies Coach Developer, is part of the Guyana Harpy Eagles technical team now led by Ryan Hercules.
Hercules, who was the previous assistant coach, has now replaced Esaun Crandon in the post of head coach.
The Guyana Harpy Eagles team is led by Leon Johnson, and also includes West Indies star Shimron Hetmyer.
The team also includes Veerasammy Permaul, Gudakesh Motie, Romario Shepherd, Sherfane Rutherford, Kevin Sinclair, and Tagenarine Chanderpaul.
However, Keemo Paul and Chandrapaul Hemraj will miss the tournament due to injuries.
The Guyana Harpy Eagles have been drawn in Zone A along with Guyana Harpy Eagles, Combined Campuses and Colleges, and the Windward Island Volcanoes.
The Harpy Eagles will play their preliminary round matches on 31 October (Windward Islands Volcanoes), 2 November (T&T Red Force), 5 November (CCC), & November (Windward Islands Volcanoes), 9 November (T&T Red Force) and 12 November (CCC)).
The tournament runs from 31 October to 19 November.
Guyana won their last 50-over title in October 2005 and has not won a 50-over title in 17 years, losing five finals since then.
Guyana went under by 152 runs to the T&T Red Force in the 2021 finals.
