The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) has announced that the North Side Road is temporarily closed as a result of a landslip. This has ultimately affected its service in the L’Anse Fourmi area.
According to a statement by the PTSC on Friday, the closure is a result of weeks of heavy rainfall which has caused the erosion of a portion of the roadway near the Castara Down River. This has made the passageway unsafe.
In this regard, the PTSC said it will provide a service from Scarborough to Runnemade to facilitate residents living in the lower end of the North Side Road (Moriah, Runnemade, Des Vignes Road, and Mt Dillon).
Supplemental service will be provided to commuters residing in the upper end of North Side Road (Bloody Bay, L’Anse Fourmi, Parlatuvier, and Upper Castara) via the rain forest.
PTSC said it remains committed to providing a safe, affordable and reliable service and apologises for the inconvenience caused.
