Prison Service receives footwear donation from contracting firm

New footwear for in­mates of the na­tion’s prison was the con­tent of a do­na­tion made to the Trinidad and To­ba­go Prison Ser­vice by Brad­ford Gen­er­al Con­tract­ing Ser­vices, this week.

The com­pa­ny do­nat­ed some 1,000 brand-new pairs of rub­ber slip­pers for dis­tri­b­u­tion to the in­mates.

Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Ro­ry Brad­ford, along with mem­bers of his team—Shel­don Critchlow, Don Bernard and Des­tiny Brad­ford—hand­ed over the char­i­ta­ble do­na­tion dur­ing a short cer­e­mo­ny at the Gold­en Grove Prison, on Thurs­day 3 No­vem­ber 2022.

On hand to re­ceive the items on be­half of the Com­mis­sion­er of Pris­ons, were Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Pris­ons (Ag.), Car­los Cor­raspe; As­sis­tant Com­mis­sion­er of Pris­ons (Ag), Char­maine John­son; and Su­per­in­ten­dent of Pris­ons (Ag.), Ri­car­do Ed­wards.

Ag. Deputy Com­mis­sion­er Cor­raspe thanked Ro­ry Brad­ford and his team for their sup­port to the Prison Ser­vice and em­pha­sized the Prison Ser­vice’s com­mit­ment to en­sure fair dis­tri­b­u­tion for use.

“Stake­hold­ers’ in­volve­ment is al­ways wel­come, as it forms an in­te­gral part of the shared re­spon­si­bil­i­ty mod­el of cor­rec­tions,” Mr Cor­raspe stat­ed.

He added that Com­mis­sion­er of Pris­ons (Ag), De­op­er­sad Ra­moutar will con­tin­ue to part­ner with ex­ter­nal stake­hold­ers in or­der to ful­fil the Prison Ser­vice’s man­date of re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion, rein­te­gra­tion and even­tu­al ac­cep­tance of per­sons re­turn­ing to so­ci­ety.
