New footwear for inmates of the nation’s prison was the content of a donation made to the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service by Bradford General Contracting Services, this week.
The company donated some 1,000 brand-new pairs of rubber slippers for distribution to the inmates.
Managing Director, Rory Bradford, along with members of his team—Sheldon Critchlow, Don Bernard and Destiny Bradford—handed over the charitable donation during a short ceremony at the Golden Grove Prison, on Thursday 3 November 2022.
On hand to receive the items on behalf of the Commissioner of Prisons, were Deputy Commissioner of Prisons (Ag.), Carlos Corraspe; Assistant Commissioner of Prisons (Ag), Charmaine Johnson; and Superintendent of Prisons (Ag.), Ricardo Edwards.

Ag. Deputy Commissioner Corraspe thanked Rory Bradford and his team for their support to the Prison Service and emphasized the Prison Service’s commitment to ensure fair distribution for use.
“Stakeholders’ involvement is always welcome, as it forms an integral part of the shared responsibility model of corrections,” Mr Corraspe stated.
He added that Commissioner of Prisons (Ag), Deopersad Ramoutar will continue to partner with external stakeholders in order to fulfil the Prison Service’s mandate of rehabilitation, reintegration and eventual acceptance of persons returning to society.
