Nicholas Pooran and Jyd Goolie scored half-centuries as Trinidad and Tobago Red Force beat Guyana Harpy Eagles by six wickets on Wednesday in the CG Insurance Super50 Cup.
Chasing 183 for victory, were in a spot of bother at 88 for 4 when Goolie joined Pooran at the crease with 95 runs still required.
Pooran hit five sixes and a four in his 47-ball innings of 56 not out to take T&T across the line.
Goolie took the Player of the Match award for his 58 not out off 58 balls with five sixes and two fours.
Gudakesh Motie took 2 for 44 for the Harpy Eagles, while Clinton Pestano had 1 for 14.
Earlier, Yannic Cariah took 3 for 30, while Shannon Gabriel had 2 for 25 as TT bowled out Guyana for 182 in 45.2 overs.
Guyana collapsed from 62 for 1 to 97 for 8 before Romario Shepherd (56) and Motie (39 not out) added 79 for the ninth wicket.
Terrance Hinds (1/38) removed Shepherd, while Goolie (1/2) wrapped up the innings with the wicket of Pestano.
The win lifts Trinidad and Tobago back to the top of Zone A with 14 points from five matches.
The Windward Islands (12) and Guyana (12) are still in with a chance of qualifying for the semifinals.
The Windwards stayed in touch with a 97-run win over the Combined Campuses and Colleges on Wednesday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
Johnson Charles hit 89 as Windwards scored 277 before Kavem Hodge took 4 for 15 to restrict CCC to 180 for 9.
T&T takes on the Windwards, while Guyana faces the CCC on Saturday in the final round of the preliminary stage of the competition.
