Nicholas Pooran will lead the T&T Red Force into battle in the CG Insurance Super50 Cup, which begins on 30 October in Trinidad and Antigua.
The 27-year-old, who led the West Indies at the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup, has been selected captain of a squad of 18 players to defend the title.
T&T won a record-extending 13th Super50 Cup title in 2021 under the captaincy of Kieron Pollard.
Pollard, who retired from international cricket earlier this year, is not part of the squad for the 2022 tournament.
Pooran as well as Akeal Hosein, Yannic Cariah, and Evin Lewis were part of the West Indies team during their disastrous 2022 ICC T20 World Cup campaign.
The team includes mystery spinner Sunil Narine, batsman Darren Bravo, as well as pacers Shannon Gabriel, Anderson Phillip, and Jayden Seales.
David Furlonge is going after his second straight Super50 Cup title, after leading the team to the win in 2021.
Trinidad and Tobago is drawn in Zone A with Windward Islands Volcanoes, Guyana Harpy Eagles, and the Combined Campuses and Colleges.
