Votes are still being counted following the close of polls on the third and final day of the People’s National Movement (PNM) internal elections.
At the party’s 50th convention at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Sunday, outgoing chairman Colm Imbert confirmed that results will be announced on Monday.
The new executive will lead the party for the next two to four years.
Four of the 16 executive positions have already been declared as the candidates ran unopposed. They are: Lady Vice Chairman – Camille Robinson-Regis, General Secretary – Foster Cummings, Public Relations Officer – Faris Al-Rawi and Youth Officer – Jeniece Scott.
It’s a four-way challenge for the party’s leadership: Dr Keith Rowley, Junior Barrack, Karen Nunez-Tesheira and Ronald Boynes.
Voting on Sunday at the Woodbrook Youth Facility began at 8am and ended at 1pm.
The previous two days of voting (November 26, 27 from 8am – 6pm) saw just over 12,000 members braving inclement weather to cast their votes.
A total of 105,894 members were registered to vote.
