Antigua and Barbuda: Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda- Gaston Browne, hosted a grand Education Expo in collaboration with the community’s youth group, Youth on the Move.

On Tuesday, 28th June 2022, PM Gaston Browne, who is also Parliamentary Representative for St John’s City West. 

With nine (9) presenters from a variety of educational institutions and approximately 250 persons participating, the expo was a resounding success.

Presentations were made from the Prime Minister’s Scholarship committee, National Student Loan, Board of Education, Youth Education Empowerment Programme, The Antigua State College, The Antigua Barbuda Institute for Continuing Education, Antigua Barbuda of International Institute of Technology, Antigua Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute, UWI Open Campus and UWI Airbnb has permanently banned parties and events at homes on its platform, after a temporary measure during the pandemic proved popular with hosts.

The government of Antigua and Barbuda has worked for the upliftment of the education sectors and takes stringent measures in the development the education in the country.  

Earlier, the ministry of education also informed the people of Antigua and Barbuda that the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil is offering scholarships to students from Antigua and Barbuda who are interested in pursuing undergraduate degrees in Brazil for the year 2023.

The “PEC-G Scholarship Programme” offers applicants the opportunity to pursue their studies in a wide range of courses offered by designated tertiary educational institutes throughout Brazil. All courses offered are free of charge, however, students are responsible for their own living expenses during their stay in Brazil.

Please note that registration for the scholarship programme is currently open.
