Family, friends and the media fraternity have been thrown into mourning following news of the passing of photojournalist Anthony Harris after he was involved in an accident while cycling.
In a social media update on Sunday morning, daughter Charisse Harris said that Harris had passed away.
According to media reports, Harris had been cycling with others around the Queen’s Park Savannah on Saturday morning when a vehicle allegedly collided with him. According to reports, the vehicle did not stop to render assistance.
He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
In a separate incident, condolences also were issued on the passing of former journalist Joel Nanton.
Guardian Media said Nanton had been the chair at the Department of Journalism and Media at the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago’s Ken Gordon School of Journalism and Communication, and also held several roles at major newsrooms.
