The Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration says is very happy that the Government has officially appointed the Constitution Commission to develop a new constitution for Barbados, the New Republic.

In a statement on Saturday the  Movement says it has recognized that the Constitution Commission does not have any leading Pan Africanists or Socialists as a member, so that the progressive forces in Barbados can be given a hearing on the Commission.

The Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration says it will call on all Pan Africanists and Socialists in Barbados to revive the People’s Forum,  to meet with the people of Barbados to develop a People’s Agenda for the Constitution of Barbados.

“Our Movement will also ask for a meeting for Pan Africanists and Socialists in Barbados to meet with the Constitution Commission,” the statement said.
