Police are investigating the death of a 38-year-old woman following a road traffic accident on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Pricilla Ramcharitar, of Perseverance Village in Carapichaima.
She was the mother of five.
According to police reports, around 11am on Sunday, Ramcharitar was in a Toyota Hilux which was proceeding along the Waterloo Link Road when the vehicle hit a pole.
The van flipped four times before landing on its side.
At the time the vehicle was also occupied by Ramcharitar’s 37-year-old husband, two of their children aged seven and four, as well as the couple’s 15-year-old nephew and a 20-year-old family friend.
Police said the four-year-old and the 20-year-old were thrown from the vehicle, with the younger victim sustaining a broken left leg as a result.
Ramcharitar sustained significant injuries to her head and died at the scene.
Couva police are continuing inquiries.
