One man is dead while another is nursing gunshot wounds following an incident in Maturita last night.
The deceased was not identified up to 8am today.
The incident took place at about 8:30pm along Kingdom Avenue in Maturita.
Police were told that the deceased and a 21-year-old man from Santa Cruz went to the area to purchase a gold chain.
However, when they arrived, they were confronted by unknown assailants.
The two men were reportedly shot at and the suspects fled the scene.
Residents of the area found the two victims bleeding from gunshot wounds and notified the police.
However, one of the men succumbed to their wounds by the time the officials arrived.
