One man is in custody after he allegedly shot at a team of police officers in La Brea on Saturday night.

The incident took place around 11pm along Industry Lane.

A team of officers from the South Western Division Task Force were on patrol in the area when they observed two men standing along the roadway.

Upon driving closer, the officers observed that one of the men was holding a firearm.

They brought the vehicle to a stop, and the suspect allegedly opened fire at the officers.

The officers took cover and returned fire.

The men ran off in different directions, but officers arrested one of the suspects a short distance away along Patrick Street.

The suspect was taken to the Fyzabad Police Station where he is being questioned.

Sgt Manolal is continuing inquiries.
