Police said an unidentified man was shot dead on Monday morning (November 21) in Champs Fleurs.
Officials said the incident took place around 10:15 am along Sagan Drive.
According to police reports, residents of the area heard a series of loud explosions, following which they observed two persons bleeding from gunshot wounds.
The police and paramedics were notified, however, one of the men died at the scene.
Police identified the deceased as a man of slim build, African descent, with braided hair and wearing a long-sleeved black T-shirt, black shorts and black Nike Air Force One sneakers.
The other was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope.
Police were told by eyewitnesses that the individual who was killed may have attempted to shoot at a group of persons who were at a construction site along Sagan Drive.
However, a member of the construction site was armed and shot back at the deceased – striking him multiple times.
Police said no firearms were found at the scene.
