A 54-year-old man was granted $40,000 bail with a surety when he appeared before San Fernando Magistrate Amina Deonarinesingh on November 16.

The accused was charged with one count of sexual touching and is expected to reappear in court on December 4.

According to a police report, between April 30, 2018, and June 1, 2018, a minor was asleep at the home of a relative and was awoken when the man allegedly touched her inappropriately.

The matter was reported on August 26, 2022, to the Child Protection Unit (CPU) in San Fernando.

WPC Ramroop conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a man who was charged on November 16.

Investigations were supervised by W/Superintendent Claire Guy-Alleyne, acting ASP Seecharan and Sgt Baptiste.
