Port of Spain Mayor Joel Martinez is warning the public, business owners, and vendors to clean up after themselves and not to dump garbage on the city’s streets.
Speaking at the launch of anti-crime operation DEER in Port of Spain on December 9, 2022, Martinez warned that vendors found littering or dumping garbage in the city would not be to continue their vending activities.
Operation DEER is the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s (TTPS) anti-crime exercise over the Christmas and Carnival period and stands for Detection and disruption, Enforcement, Education and Response.
