Guyana: Police are investigating the alleged Murder committed on Tasina Dazzle, a 28-year-old housewife of lot 46 Ujamma Housing, Scheme, LBI, ECD, which occurred on 27-08-2022 at about 23:35 hrs at the mentioned address in Guyana.
The suspect is a 36-year-old Businessman of the said address. The scene was visited on 27-08-2022 at about 23:40 hrs by a party of policemen.
Inquiries disclosed that the deceased and the suspect share a common law relationship, and they would often face domestic issues.
Although, the now deceased woman never made any report to the police regarding this. On the date and time mentioned, the deceased’s cousin, a 33-year-old Secretary of the said area, who was also her neighbour, was standing up with the deceased screaming. She immediately opened her door, and upon doing so, she managed to see the now deceased woman running out of her yard and onto her bridge, where she fell and lay motionless.
The suspect left the house and entered a minibus, and made good his escape heading in the other northern direction.
The police were examining the body of the deceased in which some injuries of stab were seen. Her body was escorted to the GPHC where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her body is at the GPHC awaiting PME. The suspect later went to the nearby police station called Turkeyen. The police arrested the suspect and escorted him to Sparendaam Police Station.
Police stated that further investigation is going on in the matter.
In the other incident, On Friday 26th August 2022, between 14:45hrs and 15:30 hrs. Leading Fireman Sherlon Legall and two other ranks from the Guyana Fire Service, stationed at the Campbellville Fire Station conducted a fire drill exercise with ranks of the Beteverwagting police station.
Responding within minutes was fire tenders # 1114 under the command of leading fireman Legall and a party of firefighters fully dressed in fire fighting gears. They immediately went into action in identifying water sources. Fire officer Legall emphasized the quality of response, orderly assembling of ranks when evacuating a building, and the possession of fire extinguishers which should be placed at strategic points to deal with fires in their initial stage and exits.
Commander Pareshram concluded the ‘fire drill’ exercise with an emphasis on the importance of fire drills and the way they should be done base on the SOP of the Guyana Police Force, he also thank the Guyana Fire Service, Guyana Power, and Light Victoria Crew member and ranks for their support and quick response during the activity.
