GAW vs TKR: The 28th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2022 sees Guyana Amazon Warriors take on Trinbago Knight Riders on Saturday at Providence Stadium in Guyana.

The Warriors’ performance in their last game against Saint Lucia has given them a chance of reaching the playoffs. They currently have 3 wins in 8 games and ought to win the remaining two to remain in contention in the top four.

Guyana Amazon Warriors

Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Saint Lucia Kings by 6 wickets in their last match. Saint Lucia made 194 runs at the end of the first innings but despite that, the Warriors managed to chase that down with four balls to spare.

R Gurbaz (52) and Hemraj (29) gave the team an outstanding start as they added 81 runs in just 7 overs. Both of them, however, got out in quick succession after that. Shai Hope then exhibited his class with a superb knock of 59 runs in 30 balls, while Hetmyer too contributed 36 off 28 balls to help the team cross the line.

In the bowling department, the spin duo of Tahir and Shakib Al Hasan will play the major role. Both will have the onus of picking wickets.

Trinbago Knight Riders Preview

On the other hand, Trinbago Knight Riders are rooted at the bottom with 3 wins in 9 matches. Although they are still in the race, two losses in the last two matches would have dented their confidence.

In their last game against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, the Knight Riders fell short of just 7 runs while chasing a target of 163 in 20 overs. Tim Seifert played yet another fine knock of 59 runs in 47 balls but the likes of Pollard (15 off 10) and Nicholas Pooran (15 off 10) yet again struggled to get going.

Heading into their last league stage game, the team would expect to deliver with the bat.
