Former West Indies batsman Bruce Pairaudeau has died. He was 91.
Born in British Guiana in 1931, Pairaudeau made his debut for Guyana at age 15 and went on to score 115 on debut for the West Indies against India at the Queen’s Park Oval in 1953.
He played 13 tests between 1953 and 1957, ending his career with 454 runs at an average of 21.61.
Pairaudeau scored 4,930 runs in 89 first-class matches with 11 centuries and 25 fifties.
He moved to New Zealand and played for Northern Districts where he was later named captain.
Pairaudeau led Northern Districts to their first Plunket Shield title in 1962-63.
