A roving roadblock exercise in the North Central Division and an anti-crime exercise in the Western Division, both conducted Saturday, resulted in the seizure of a firearm, ammunition, and drugs.
Officers of the Western Division Task Force executed a search warrant at a home located on Dillon Street, Diego Martin between 5pm Friday and 3am Saturday.
They allegedly discovered 3,207 grammes of marijuana in six plastic-wrapped packages, along with four rounds of .40 calibre ammunition in a brown handle bag in a bedroom ceiling.
Then, around 9:30pm, officers of the North Central Division Task Force – Area East, while heading north along Lopinot Road, saw a man with a black bag in his hand walking along the roadway.
Firearm seized along Lopinot Road.
The man spotted the officers and allegedly dropped the bag and ran into a bushy area nearby and escaped.
Officers retrieved the bag and allegedly discovered a firearm and three rounds of 12-gauge ammunition in it.
Enquiries into both incidents are ongoing.
