A 60-year-old ice cream salesman was robbed at gunpoint in Moruga over the weekend.
The victim told police he was selling ice cream in the vicinity of Fifth Company Branch Road in Moruga at 3:20pm on Saturday when he was stopped by two men.
The men asked for cones.
However, when the driver attempted to get them, one of the “customers” pulled out a firearm and announced a hold-up.
They then stole an estimated $4,000 and fled the scene on foot.
Police were notified and a team of officers led by WPC Cooper and WPC Bahadoorsingh responded.
Inquiries are continuing.
More on this as it becomes available.
