Police officers were at a site along the Southern Main Road in Curepe, a few hundred metres from Bushe Street, this morning, where a dismembered was discovered.

Details are still coming in, but Guardian Media understands that at around 9:00 am, police were alerted to a stench coming from an abandoned lot.

Upon checking the site, the officers found a dismembered body.

A light traffic jam resulted as curious onlookers and motorists attempted to glean what was happening.

The unidentified person’s remains eventually were removed at about Noon, and traffic was able to flow freely once more.

Investigations are ongoing.

This is a developing story and Guardian Media will update it as details come to hand.
