A man was shot and killed by police officers in Morvant on Saturday morning.
The victim was identified as Triston “Ratty Springer of Second Caledonia, Morvant.
According to an official police report, around 5:45am police officers executed a search warrant for firearms and ammunition at the victim’s residence.
Upon entering the house, the officers proceeded to a bedroom where they observed Springer on the bed.
They called out to him.
He allegedly pointed a firearm in their direction and the officers opened fire.
Springer fell to the ground.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a quantity of cash and a firearm were seized.
Investigations are continuing.
