Police have no motive for the murder of 31-year-old Rodney Charles.
Charles, of Picton Street Extension in San Fernando, was gunned down at 10pm near his home on Saturday.
Residents reported hearing a series of explosions and found Charles bleeding from multiple injuries.
The police and paramedics were notified, however, Charles succumbed to his wounds.
Charles, police said, was a coconut vendor, and was not known to be involved in criminal activities.
