Teneil Campbell and Tariq Woods were the star performers at the 2022 National Road Championships which took place on the weekend.
Campbell, who rides for Team Bike-Exchange-Jayco, won the road race for elite women in 2 hours 30 minutes, and four seconds (2:30.04).
The 24-year-old also won the time trial title the day before, completing the course at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in 33 minutes 36.66 seconds (33:36.66).
“Happy to be able to come home for National Championships and as a bonus spend a quick week with my family,” Campbell wrote on her Facebook page on Sunday.
“Was looking forward to hurting the men this morning but unfortunately a really, really stupid mechanical prevented that. Luckily I got another bike otherwise would have needed to pull a ‘Froomy.'” Campbell added.
Woods also won the road race for Elite Men and U23 Men in 2:26.40 seconds.
He finished second to national champion Jason Costelloe in the time trial in 47 minutes 56.28 seconds (47:56.28).
Costelloe won the national time trial championships in 47:16.34 while Woods won the U23 category.
Woods is the sole cyclist selected for the inaugural edition of the Caribbean Games, which is set for 29 June to 3 July in Guadeloupe.
