Police are investigating a report in which two men were thrown off their boat and forced to swim to shore.
According to reports, two brothers left King’s Wharf in San Fernando around 4.45 pm on Sunday to go fishing.
They made their way in the waters of the Gulf of Paria off La Brea and cast their nets.
Around 8:20 pm, while they were pulling their nets back into the vessel, another boat approached them.
The occupants of this vessel confronted the two siblings – one of the men was armed with a firearm.
The suspects ordered the two siblings to jump overboard.
They then threw the brothers some life jackets which they were told to put on.
The men then stole the fishing vessel and left the scene.
The two siblings told investigators they then swam for about four hours until they arrived in La Brea.
They were then assisted to the La Brea police station where a report was made.
