The 2023 Brechin Castle Open Championships is set for 13-15 January at the Sevilla Golf Course in Couva.
The tournament is the first major tournament of the local golf calendar and offers local golfers the opportunity to earn valuable world ranking points and vie for selection for international tournaments.
Men’s championship division winner Liam Bryden will be back to defend his crown, but women’s champion Ye Ji Lee has returned to South Korea and will not be playing in the tournament.
However, the tournament organizers have reported that top senior player Jessel Mohammed is back in the fray and will compete in the tournament.
Notables missing include 2022 T&T Open champion Zico Correia and 2021 champion Chris Richards Jr.
Both men are set to play in the 2023 Latin America Amateur Championships at Rio Grande Puerto Rico from 12-15 January.
The 2023 Brechin Castle Open Golf Championships begins on Friday.
