Flight deals to Trinidad and Tobago from Miami and Los Angeles are rare, so it’s worth booking if you can.
Here are the two routes to Piarco International Airport (POS):
- American: Departing from Miami International Airport (MIA), starting at $261.
- United: Departing from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), starting at $379 (includes a layover).
The Miami flight is nonstop, but the one from Los Angeles includes a layover in Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
We recommend using Google Flights to determine your ideal dates and then booking your flights directly through the airline’s website. Compared to Google Flights, airline websites are more reliable if your flight faces a delay, cancellation or booking change.
On Google Flights, American has two options for nonstop flights to Trinidad and Tobago from May 11 to May 18. One flight is the heavily discounted $261 one, departing Miami at 5:35 p.m. The other option, slightly more expensive at $305, leaves Miami earlier in the day, at 10:05 a.m. Both flights are three hours and 50 minutes long.
The cheaper returning flight to Miami is also priced at $261 and leaves Port of Spain at 3:22 p.m.
The fares in this deal only extend to economy. For American in particular, the discounted fares from Miami only apply to basic economy, which has fees for seat selection and doesn’t allow for ticket changes or refunds.
American basic economy also lets passengers bring a free carry-on and a personal item on the flight.
If you’d like to choose a seat on your flights, it’ll cost anywhere from $12 to $113 extra. The pricier $113 seats are American’s “Main Cabin Extra,” which offer 6 inches of legroom and are at the front of the aircraft.

Bottom line
Despite the limited flying options from just Miami and Los Angeles, the prices in this deal are too good to pass up. Los Angeles has not seen a significantly discounted fare to Trinidad and Tobago in two years, and such a low price from Miami is relatively uncommon for the majority of the year.
These flights are sure to fill up fast, so if you live in or near Los Angeles or Miami, now is the time to plan a trip to Trinidad and Tobago.
