Tony told Radio Times: “It’s quite a big ask for a lead actor to be away from home for half the year, every year.
“So of course, after two or three years, depending on their circumstances, it has to come to an end.
“We’ve managed those transitions really successfully, I think.
“But I’m sure that it’s meant that some actors have left that character sooner than they would have liked.”
