Barbados Cricket Association and the Windward Islands Cricket Association have named squads for the 2022 CWI Rising Stars U17 Super50 Championships in Trinidad.

Barbados are two-time defending champions and are going after a hat-trick of titles in the tournament, which commences on Tuesday in Trinidad.

Barbados open their campaign against Guyana at the National Cricket Center in Balmain, Couva on Tuesday.

The Windward Islands, who also named their team on Thursday, will play their first game against the Leeward Islands on Tuesday at Gilbert Park, Point Lisas.

Players from the Windward Islands were involved in the Winlott Inc WICB U19 Tournament in Dominica during the past week.

St Lucia won the tournament, beating Dominica by eight wickets in the final match on Wednesday.

Hosts Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana have already named their squads for the tournament.

The 2022 CWI Rising Stars U17 Super50 Championships will be played over five rounds of round-robin play between 19 -26 July in Trinidad.

The National Cricket Center in Balmain will host matches in all five rounds of the tournament. Other venues include Gilbert Park in Point Lisas, Inshan Ali Park in Preysal, and PowerGen Penal Sports Ground at Syne Road, Penal.

The tournament will begin just six days after the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board successfully hosted the CWI Rising Stars U19 T20 Championships in Trinidad.

The USA beat Trinidad and Tobago in the finals on Wednesday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
