Americans can reach Cuba now that Havana’s airport has reopened: Travel Weekly

Jose Marti Airport in Havana, the largest and busiest airport in Cuba, has resumed commercial and charter air operations after closing on March 24 due to the pandemic.

Several U.S. carriers, including American and JetBlue, offer flights to Havana.

American travelers can visit Cuba under 12 specific categories of travel, including Support for the Cuban People, but are barred from strictly tourist vacations to the all-inclusive island beach resorts off the northeast coast.

And other hurdles remain. Commercial and charter aircraft from the U.S. are not permitted to fly into airports other than Havana; the other international airports in Cuba reopened for flights on Oct. 17.

Although Cuba does not require travelers to take a Covid test prior to arrival, all arriving travelers must submit a health declaration and take a PCR test for Covid. The results are available within 24 hours.

Visitors must quarantine until test results are received and must take another PCR test at their own expense on the fifth day of their stay. Mask wearing outdoors is mandatory in Havana.

Cuba, with a population of 11.2 million, has registered 8,000 cases of Covid to date, including 130 deaths.

Other regulations are detailed at https://cu.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information.
